Ice, Ice, Baby

It really hasn't been too cold in our neck of the woods, but the other day it got a little chilly at our house. We filled a big bin with some ice cubes, and played with ice for about 45 minutes.

Our only rules:

#1- The ice had to stay in the kitchen.

#2- No eating the ice, or little m might choke:)

What we used:

1- bucket full of regular ice
2- AND different shapes of ice, (got our ice makers at IKEA)
3- different containers, spoons, and measuring cups

This was such a great sensory activity. Try it out and let me know what fun things you did with your ice! Give it a try, you will fall in love with ICE :)

Rummikub: not just your average game

Do you remember playing this game? Well it was one of our family favorites growing up. It has now become one of Little R's favorites too, just for different reasons.

Little R just had to play with our Rummikub game the other day.
Since I bought it at a garage sale for just 75 cents, I thought, what the heck.
Might as well let him have at it.
Here is what he came up with. . .

Little R made a nice race track for his cars to go down. Lots of fun, and he even made a catcher, so they wouldn't fall off of the table.

And, of course he sorted them by color. Not even forced by mom:)

We had fun playing with Rummikub, the "Wrong" way!!!
So go ahead and pull out a game, and see what new things your toddler comes up with.
